Terms of Service

The short version

Ketchup turns YouTube videos into short AI-generated summaries. Use it like a human, pay for what you subscribe to, don't abuse the service, and understand that AI summaries can contain mistakes. By using Ketchup you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Ketchup generates summaries from the publicly available captions of videos you explicitly choose to summarize, and saves them to your personal library (the Pantry). Summaries are produced by an AI model: they are usually accurate, but they can be incomplete or wrong. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or other consequential decisions — verify anything important against the original video.

Ketchup is an independent product of Really Random Studio, LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

2. Accounts

An account is optional and created by signing in with Google. You're responsible for activity under your account. We never see your Google password.

3. Free tier and fair use

• The free tier has daily and monthly limits, which we may adjust as economics require. Current numbers are always shown in the product.
• Ketchup is built for humans clicking thumbnails. Automating requests, scraping, circumventing limits (including by rotating devices or accounts), or reselling access isn't allowed.
• Shared-network (per-IP) caps may apply to protect the free tier from abuse; signing in gives you individual limits.

4. Subscriptions and billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled.
• Cancel any time from the billing portal (toolbar popup → Manage subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your paid limits until then.
• If we change a plan's price, we'll notify you before it affects your next renewal.

5. Refunds

We're a small studio and we aim to be fair. If something went wrong with a charge, contact us within 14 days and we'll sort it out.

6. Content and ownership

Videos, captions, titles, and channel names belong to their creators and platforms. Summaries in your Pantry are for your personal use. The Ketchup software, brand, and service are ours.

7. Availability

Ketchup is provided "as is", without warranties. YouTube changes things; models change; we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We work to keep the sauce flowing, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Ketchup is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You can stop using Ketchup at any time (and ask us to delete your data — see the privacy policy). We may suspend or terminate access for abuse of these terms, with a refund of any unused paid period unless the abuse was serious.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date will change and material changes will be noted in the product. Continuing to use Ketchup after a change means you accept it.
